The purpose of our Branch is to provide a focus for beekeeping activities locally. We hold virtual and in-person talks, beekeeping demonstrations and apiary training sessions from late spring to late summer at our Association apiary at the Offshoots Permaculture Project in Towneley Park, Burnley and our second apiary at Gawthorpe Hall. We also hold an annual honey show and put on social and educational events through the year. The Association also attends local events promoting beekeeping, schools visits and educating the general public, including taster sessions for those who want to experience being around bees before jumping in. 

Our branch members come from all walks of life and all generations, some beginners and some with more than 50 years experience of working with bees. New members are very welcome. 

Beekeeping is a fascinating and absorbing hobby. By joining our beekeeping association you will learn useful information about the art of beekeeping. In addition, being a member will give you the opportunity to meet other beekeepers and gain from their experience and be a member of the British Beekeepers Association.
